Holiday hats

Gift for *FaeTian, who is an awesome friend and one of my most devoted watchers. Merry Christmas, Fae! And have a fantastic New Year! As with all my gifts, if you want the fullsize version then just ask.

Anyways, this image shows what I think happened before [link] since I'm guessing that Jimmy did not put on that Santa hat of his own free will. So I theorized that River would have put it on for him. Now, I've never seen Jimmy in a hat so I just gave him a generic pirate tricorn. Also, I have no idea what the Teivellir are doing out in the middle of the snowy mountains...but drawing a light-colored horse on a light-colored background probably wasn't very smart. Of course I only realized this when I already had the other half of the mountains done. But hopefully River isn't blending into the snow too much, lol. Also I know there's supposed to be quite the height difference between these two horses, but it worked best when they were both eye level so just assume that River is standing on a snowbank or something.
Since River's ref sheet said she was an Arabian/mustang cross, I of course used an Arab for her reference.

Time: 1-2 hours per horse + 2 hours for background...so around 6 total.
Layers: 35. I went layer crazy on this one. Everything had its own layer. It would be so handy if my version of PS had layer folders...
