Frustration

I think that this is the first piece of vent art I've done that actually ended up looking a bit artistic, and not just a bloody scribble. It was very much an experimental work; I wanted to try some new things with light and color, because those aren't my strong areas. I was aiming for that dramatic lighting that some artists manage to nail so efficiently (*TamberElla for example) but that always seemed to elude me. Still a ways to go in that department, but gotta start somewhere.

The pose was tricky, there's no doubt about that. I picked this particular one because I thought it best expressed that essence of frustration that I was trying to capture. It's definitely the weirdest pose I've ever tried, lol. At first I wasn't sure I'd get it right, and I know that there are still some anatomy mistakes, but I'm just happy that it looks like a horse and has the atmosphere that I was going for.
